Job description

At the division of Mathematics, there are lively research groups in a number of areas, for example Algebra and Geometry, Combinatorics, Complex Analysis, Dynamical Systems, Harmonic Analysis, Mathematical Physics, Number Theory, Numerical Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, and Spectral Theory. More information can be found at www.math.kth.se. At the moment, there are about 20 graduate students at the division.

The Ph.D. student position primarily involve graduate level studies with the goal of a doctoral degree. Also some departmental duties are included, mainly teaching basic level courses. The announced Ph.D. position is in the area of dynamical systems and ergodic theory, including dynamics and rigidity of group actions, and has Danijela Damjanovic as advisor. For further details, please contact Danijela Damjanovic (ddam@kth.se). 

The employment is for a maximum of five years. Up to 20% departmental duties are included in the employment.   

Qualifications

A university degree with an emphasis on mathematics (240 credit points) is a necessary qualification, with a master's thesis (or equivalent) preferably in the subject of mathematics. In addition to traditional academic merits, a degree project or master's thesis relevant for the specialization, international experience, and language skills are regarded as merits. 

Applicants must be strongly motivated for doctoral studies, possess the ability to work independently and perform critical analysis, and possess good levels of cooperative and communicative abilities.
