Job description

A postdoctoral position in the area of nonlinear partial differential equations is offered within the KTH mathematics department. The position is intended for the study of different aspects of integrable equations and will take place under the supervision of Dr. Jonatan Lenells. The project, which runs for a maximum of two years, could also involve the study of other topics consistent with the research interests of the supervisor. A certain amount of additional funding will be available for academic travel and other expenses, and there are no teaching duties.

Qualifications

A PhD degree, awarded within the last three years (or planned to be awarded before the commencement of the project) in mathematics is a requirement. We seek a candidate with a strong background in one or some of the following areas: Partial differential equations, integrable systems, water waves, complex analysis, Riemann-Hilbert problems, spectral theory, Riemann surfaces, boundary value problems, functional analysis.

The successful applicant should be strongly motivated, have the capability to work independently as well as in collaboration with members of the research group, and have good communication skills.
