Job description

The numerical analysis unit within the department of Mathematics is offering a two-year postdoc position. The research project will be focused towards development of multiscale methods for computer simulation of fluid flows over surfaces with microscopic details or porous materials. The algorithms on the micro scale will to a large extent be based on boundary integral equations. The project will span over theory, algorithms, software and applications. Qualifications

A PhD degree, awarded (or planned to be awarded before the commencement of the position) from a foreign university, in applied mathematics, computer science or engineering is a requirement. We seek a candidate with strong background in applied mathematics, in particular with demonstrated good understanding in topics related to numerical analysis or numerical mathematics, and with good programming skills. Knowledge in fluid mechanics or another application area is also of merit. The successful applicant should be strongly motivated, have the capability to work independently, be able to work in a team and have good communication skills.
