The group’s research focus is physics beyond the Standard Model and includes neutrino physics and dark matter physics.

This research project will be focused on theoretical and phenonomenological research about neutrinos with an emphasis on (i) investigation of the physics reach of the proposed neutrino experiment ESSnuSB based on available information on this experiment and especially optimization of the design of ESSnuSB and improvement of handling systematic errors, (ii) comparison of the performance of the ESSnuSB with that of other planned experiments, and (iii) presentation of the found physics performance at international conferences and workshops. The work on (i) and (ii) should amount to a minimum of 50 % of full-time working time.

In the position, a limited amount of teaching may be included depending on both the interest of the successful applicant and the availability at the department.

Qualifications

A PhD degree is a requirement. An applicant should have a strong background in phenomenological research on neutrino physics as well as a solid knowledge of simulating neutrino oscillation experiments.
