Job description

In this post you will work intensively with LCA for specific energy technologies and energy systems on national and transnational levels with a future perspective. You will principally work with LCA calculation software and databases. The work may involve literature studies of LCA literature relevant for energy technologies and energy systems. The work may involve both environmental LCA and social LCA. You may also communicate the LCA studies you carry out in written reports, scientific articles and presentations at scientific conferences. In the post you will work together with KTH colleagues and collaborators in other European research institutions.

The post may involve overseas travel to project meetings and scientific conferences.

Qualifications

You should hold a degree at at least Masters’ level in engineering (or equivalent) with significant focus on environmental systems analysis and sustainability.

You should have carried out a Masters’ thesis in the area of strategies for sustainable development or similar. You shall have experience of life cycle assessment (LCA) of technology, preferably connected to energy and transport systems. You shall be able to work with LCA databases and software, such as Ecoinvent, SimaPro, SOCA or PsiLCA.

You shall be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.

It is advantageous if you are well-acquainted with technology development in the energy and transport sector in relation to sustainable development, for example electricity systems, renewable energy, innovative methods for sustainable material product etc.

It is further positive if you have experience with social LCA.
