Job description

At the Department of Materials Science (Unit for Properties) research is being carried out on new materials. The business consists of theoretical computational calculations as well as collaborations with national and international experimental groups. The long-term goal of the current project in which the position is included is to develop metallic materials with improved properties.

We are now looking for a postdoc where the tasks will consist of theoretical computer simulations of relevant material structures.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position, you have a PhD in theoretical material physics or equivalent.

Furthermore, you should have experience in the following specific areas.

  • High-density alloys
  • Magnetoelastic and magnetocaloric effects
  • Mechanical properties, plasticity
  • Complex material structures
  • Properties of alloy bulk phases as a function of alloy components and composition
  • Theoretical characterization of magnetic structures and crystal structures
  • Phase stability, phase diagrams and microstructure

It is meritorious if you have experience of collaborating with experimental groups and experience of international collaborations. Experience of international research environments is also beneficial to the service.

The work will be conducted in collaboration with various research groups, so you should enjoy working in groups as well as working independently. You are expected to be strongly motivated for advanced studies in magnetocaloric materials as well as being entrepreneurial and driving as a person.
