KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Job description

The main task for this 1 year postdoc position concerns development and improvement of physical models for charge carrier transport in silicon carbide (SiC) and to implement these in existing TCAD programs. In particular, hole transport and charge carrier lifetime will be modelled and fitted to measured data. Part of the position may also involve electrical measurements of 4H-SiC test structures and devices, manufactured in-house, to generate new data.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with substantial experience from calculations and simulations of material properties, particularly semiconductor materials. Background from TCAD programs for physical simulation of electronic devices, or practical skills from electrical measurements will be a merit. Applicants must hold, or be about to receive, a doctoral degree in material sciences, semiconductor electronics, or similar fields. The doctoral degree must have been obtained within the last three years from the application deadline (some exceptions for special grounds, for instance sick leave and parental leave). The candidate should have a strong background from at least one of the areas: solid state electronics, or computer simulations of material properties/electronic devices.

The successful applicant should have an outstanding research and publication record. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills are a requirement. We are looking for a strongly motivated person, who is able to work independently. Good command of English orally and in writing is required to present and publish research results.
