Environmental-related research questions connected to atmospheric corrosion has been one focus of the team during the last 20 years, e.g. together with international branch organizations, architects and environmental risk managers and organizations. The vision of on-going activities is to also connect the field of atmospheric corrosion to health-associated aspects such as antibacterial properties of metals, alloys and metallic coatings and their connection to changes in oxidation and corrosion characteristics. The aim of the post-doc position is to initiate and elaborate fundamental knowledge related to corrosion initiation and propagation in the presence of skin-relevant bacteria.

Together with the current research team elaborate and develop fundamental knowledge and methodology to enable studies of initial corrosion mechanisms on metals, alloys and metallic coatings in the presence of skin-relevant bacteria Responsibility to push the research front forward, elaborate methods and publish novel research findings in highly recognized scientific journals. Extensive responsibility and execution of thorough characterization and analysis of changes in material and surface characteristics by means of a multitude of surface sensitive analytical tools, chemical analysis and bacterial assays.

Qualifications

 - Extensive experience in reserach activties/scientific publications within the research area of atmospheric corrosion

- Strong and deep expertise in analytical tools within surface spectroscopy, electrochemistry, diffraction, microscopy, and chemical analysis

- Very strong ability to communicate and write in English

- Large degree of experimental independence

- Very strong collaborative ability and a humble attitude

- Strong developed experimental skills

- Strong developed analytical skills -
