Project description
Third-cycle subject: Electrical Engineering
The student will join a multi-disciplinary research environment at the Integrated Transport Research Lab. The research is focused on off-board management and control of automated vehicles. Safe and efficient operation of automated vehicles will require advanced systems for monitoring, guidance and control. The goal of the project is to understand how control and guidance on different abstraction levels can be used to reach system level targets, for example on safety, efficiency or productivity. Cooperation between automated and human driven vehicles and the control center (control tower), will aslo be studied, as well as how data, learning and AI can be used in this context. The work will be both theoretic and practical and will involve development and experimentation in our test bed based on miniature vehicles and with our industrial partners.
