Job description

The aim of the project in in electrochemical catalysis for solar fuels is to design and synthesize transition metal complexes and oxides/hydroxide as hybrid catalysts for electrochemical or photoelectrochemical water oxidation and hydrogen generation. Documented research experiences in material chemistry and electrochemistry for water oxidation and hydrogen production, or photoelectrochemical driven oxidation/reduction of organic compounds using water as oxygen and proton source are desired. The applicant is expected to conduct advanced research in the fields of organic chemistry, materials chemistry, photoelectrochemistry and catalysis.

Qualifications

We seek candidate with PhD degree in material chemistry and electrochemistry, and postdoc research experience. A successful candidate should have documented research experiences in one or more of the following research areas: design and synthesis of transition metal oxides/hydroxides as catalysts for water splitting, characterization of related catalysts with traditional and advanced techniques, such as XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS. The applicant should have capability to communicate in English, can work independently as well as group member, and be able to take initiatives and to drive the related research project.
