Job description

The Research Center KTH Integrated Transport Research Lab (ITRL) is currently looking for a research engineer.

As a research engineer in this position, you will have the technical responsibility for developing and maintaining the research platforms available at ITRL. Responsibility applies primarily to the vehicle platforms called RCV and RCV-E, but the work will also include the Autonomous Vehicle Traffic Control Tower (AVTCT) and Smart Mobility Lab as needed.

The task include coordination, design, planning, procurement, integration and testing. Furthermore, you will collaborate with researchers internally at KTH as well as engineers at Ericsson, Scania and other research partners to ITRL. You will also document and write manuals for the platforms as well as coordinate research projects and student projects linked to the platforms.

The main focus in this position lies primarily on mechanical and mechatronic systems and its integration with the control system in the RCV and AVTCT platforms.

The position is located at Campus KTH, T-bana Tekniska Högskolan.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position, you must have a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. In addition, the position requires work experience with:

  • Simulink Real Time
  • Mechatronics
  • Control
  • Battery system and electric motors

Furthermore, it is considered meritorious if you have experience of:

  • Project management
  • Rapid prototyping
  • Vehicle Dynamics
  • CAN communication in vehicles

As a person, we believe that you are autonomous, problem-solving, structured and have good communication skills in both spoken and written language. Most communication will be in English but knowledge in Swedish will be beneficial for the position.
