Job description

A one-year postdoctoral research position (with possible extension) is offered at the department of Chemistry of the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The research program concerns application of advanced NMR methods for characterization of molecular and ion dynamics in bulk and nanoconfined ionic liquid crystals. The unique combination of ionic conductivity, displayed by ionic liquids, and anisotropic physical properties, revealed by liquid crystalline materials, leads to new dynamic properties, exploited in modern technological applications. The project involves development and optimization of advanced solid-state, pulsed-field-gradient, and electrophoretic NMR methodologies for delivering model-independent information on the molecular and charge mobility in ionic liquid crystals.


Ph.D., not older than three years, in chemistry or physics (or related discipline).

Proven track-record in solid-state NMR techniques and data analysis.

Experience with pulsed-field-gradient diffusion methods.

Knowledge in computational methods for NMR.

Good communication skills in English.
