The rapidly decreasing cost and time of sequencing biomolecules such as DNA and RNA is causing genomics to move into clinics as an indispensable tool for choosing the right, personalized, treatment of diseases such as cancer. QuantumSense is a recently launched interdisciplinary research center involving research groups at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Karolinska Institutet (KI), and the SciLifeLab, in Stockholm, Sweden, devoted to realizing a next-generation sequencing technology based on quantum tunneling. A brief description of the technology and the long term objective of the project is available at https://bit.ly/2FjwEZH
The Department of Information Science and engineering is looking for a doctoral student who will work on developing signal processing and machine learning methods for interpreting data produced by the developed sensors.
