Project description
Third-cycle subject: Electrical Engineering
The main goal of this project is to investigate innovative solutions for mm-wave antennas based on lenses. These lenses will be employed to produce highly efficient antenna systems with future application to 5G and Satellite Communications. These systems will be allocated at Ka- and U-bands. To produce high efficient systems, fully-metallic integrated antenna solutions will be investigated, as well as transformation optics.

Selection
In order to succeed as an doctoral student at KTH you need to be goal oriented and persevering in your work. In the selection of the applicants, the following will be assessed:
The successful applicant is expected to hold or to be about to receive an MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or similar. A specialization in electromagnetics, metasurfaces, transformation optics and lenses is an asset.
The successful applicant should have an outstanding academic track record, and well developed analytical and problem solving skills. We are looking for a strongly motivated person, who is able to work independently. Good command of English orally and in writing is required, as well as, to conduct meetings with the industrial partners involved in the project.
After the qualification requirements, great emphasis will be places on personal qualities and personal suitability.

Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle studies may be employed as a doctoral student. The term of the initial contract may not exceed one year and may thereafter be extended. Doctoral students may engage in teaching, research, and administration corresponding to a maximum of 20 % of a full-time position.
