Project description
Third-cycle subject:
The division of Affinity Proteomics at the Department of Protein Science at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and SciLifeLab in Stockholm is looking for a PHd-stident within a project entitled “Explore autoantibody repertoires in plasma to identify specific autoantigens associated with vasculitis”, which is a part of the “HEalth data LInkage for ClinicAL benefit (HELICAL)“ H2020-MSCA-ITN-2018 Innovative Training Network.
see http://www.helical-itn.eu/
The student will use protein arrays to interrogate thousands of antigen-autoantibody interactions simultaneously to screen plasma from vasculitis patients to search for patterns of autoantibodies correlating with clinical parameters such as disease activity. Proteomic results will be also correlated with tissue morphometric results and clinical outcome, building on the overall HELICAL theme of ethical linkage of experimental and clinical data to improve patient care. The student will learn to run data analysis on proteomic data, interpret them and get the chance to present them at national and international meetings and on peer-reviewed journals. HELICAL ITN is designed to promote movement of researchers in Europe and so is open to researchers from any country in the world provided they have not carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Sweden for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date. The HELICAL ITN is highly integrated and so the appointee will also have the opportunity to acquire additional skills through regular meetings, workshops and seminars, and through secondments to other partners in the HELICAL network.
