Job description

Integrated Transport Research Lab (ITRL) is a research center aimed at researching and demonstrating transport concepts that can significantly reduce CO2-emissions while being economically and socially sustainable. ITRL develops and heads research projects involving researchers from all schools of KTH, as well as contributes to research within the system perspective in the research projects. 

As a researcher / program leader at ITRL, you will have four main tasks:

  1. Lead, coordinate and develop the research program "Lean end-to-end freight transport"
  2. Act as project manager in ongoing research projects and developing new research projects in the field
  3. Conduct research in the field
  4. Participate in the development of ITRL as a research center 

The research project "Lean end-to-end freight transport" contains the sub-areas technology, vehicle concepts, logistics and system effects, users/business models as well as infrastructure and sustainability. A fundamental issue for all projects is "how can new technology contribute to a sustainable transport system?".

You will report to the director of the center and your workplace is at T-bana Tekniska Högskolan.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you have a PhD degree, or equivalent degree at a higher level, within a field relevant to the position, as well as experience of project management of complex projects with many parties. Very good communicative skills in English, speech and writing, is required for the position. In addition, knowledge of Swedish is meritorious. 

Education within project management and/or leadership is considered beneficial for the position. Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have experience of:

  • Leading/developing research portfolios
  • Developing research projects based on collaboration between different actors
  • Applying for research grants from collaborative projects
  • Working within transport/logistics from business or equivalent authorities
  • Conducting research in system analysis, system design or similar
  • Conducting multidisciplinary research

Furthermore, you have good ability to collaborate with both internal and external parties, and enjoy working in a networking role.
