The Division of Urban and Regional Studies within the Department of Urban Planning and Environment is a multi-disciplinary environment that focuses on the study of local and regional development as it relates to sustainable development, actors and processes, and institutional preconditions. Research projects in the division involve in-depth theorization and development of better practices, often in collaboration with non-academic actors in the public, private and non-for-profit sectors.
Job description
The advertised post-doc position is part of the project, PERI-CENE: Periurbanization and Climate-Environment Change, to study innovative governance approaches with respect to peri-urbanization and climate risk. The research will draw upon debates in sustainable transitions, experimental governance and co-design to develop adaptive pathways and tools for strategic policy intelligence that are scalable and transferable. The post-doc will collaborate with academic researchers from the UK and India to gather and analyse qualitative data as well as co-produce innovative governance approaches with non-academic stakeholders. The position will include teaching up to 20% of full time. The individual is expected to be an active participant in the academic environment. This is a temporary one-year position with the possibility to extend for an additional year.
