Job description

The Division of Heat and Power Technology at the Department of Energy Technology is seeking a research engineer to work in a H2020 project. The aim of the project is to improve the current understanding of the physical processes that cause destructive blade vibrations in aircraft engines and to enhance the current design tools that are employed to analyse these vibrations. This aim will be achieved by performing unique fundamental experiments (rig tests) that investigate the key problems of flutter and forced response. The tasks of the research engineer will focus on design and construction of a new test section for a cascade rig developed for the aeromechanical tests that will take place at the department.

Beside the described research tasks, the job may include tasks related to the educational activities with up to 20%.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you have a M.Sc. degree in Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics or equivalent. You have a strong knowledge in aerodynamics and aeromechanics in turbomachinery, demonstrated through relevant degree program/courses and/or relevant work experience.

It is highly meritorious if you have previous experience of experimental testing and design of experiments, as well as pedagogical experience

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
