The department of Fibre and Polymer Technology is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a collaboration with Autoform Group (www.autoform.se). The successful candidate will work in the Polymeric Materials division led by Professor Mikael Hedenqvist (www.kth.se/fpt/polymeric-materials).

Calix Klippan AB (”CKAB”) is a Swedish and privately owned company group supplying the global automotive industry with accessories and components. Autoform Group (”AFG”) is a subgroup within CKAB consisting of three entities: Autoform in Malung and Andrénplast in Gothenburg and Poland. AFG with annual net sales exceeding SEK 500 million is specialized in vacuum-forming of recyclable thermoplastics. AFG's product range comprise e g trunk liners, roof boxes, dashboards and wind deflectors.

Job description

The goal of the project is to develop, test and understand the properties of new potential materials for vacuum formed products. The successful candidate will work with vacuum forming of new materials and to characterize these.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • Have good academic records.
  • Have a PhD in polymer technology, polymeric materials or similar.
  • Have experience of relevant characterization techniques of polymeric materials and their building blocks, e.g. SEM, FTIR, rheological and mechanical characterization. 
  • Are fluent in English, not only for academic writing but also for oral communication.

As a person you should be able to lead projects, but also cooperate well in groups, be structured and easily take initiatives. The successful candidate should also have well-developed analytical skills, as well as problem solving skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.

This postdoctoral position is a full-time employed position for two years. The doctoral degree must be completed no more than three years before the last application date.
