Kungliga Tekniska högskolan,

Job description

The Post Doc position involves work in a project for development of automated demand response solutions. The focus of the work will be on semantic information modeling of flexible resource in power systems. The underlying idea is that for aggregated demand response resources to participate on electricity markets, the communication with the resources needs to be automated and the characteristics of the resources in terms of response time, ramp time etc needs to be available in an interoperable format. The work therefore includes both demand response in power systems and information system architecture and interoperability.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold or be about to receive a doctoral degree in electrical engineering  specifically in electric power engineering or systems engineering. The doctoral degree must have been obtained within the last three years from the application deadline (some exceptions for special grounds, for instance sick leave and parental leave). The candidate should have a strong background from at least one of the areas: modeling of flexible resources in power systems, control and automation of demand response as well as experience with development of control and communication applications in the domain. Expertise within Information modeling of power systems, e.g. Common Information Model (CIM) or IEC 61850 semantic models is a strong advantage.

A successful applicant should have an outstanding research and publication record. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills are a requirement. We are looking for a strongly motivated person, who is able to work independently. Good command of English orally and in writing is required to present and publish research results.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
