The PDC Center for High Performance Computing is the leading Swedish supercomputing center hosted at KTH. It operates state-of-the-art computational and storage resources. Job description

PDC is looking for up to four students to help with several of the following tasks during the autumn of 2019, starting as soon as possible with the possibility of an extension for the spring of 2020:

  • answering support questions from the PDC's users.
  • participating in the PDC user support team.
  • communicating with PDC's system staff and application experts to find answers to more advanced user questions.
  • writing and testing documentation for PDC's resources.
  • helping PDC system staff with everyday work.
  • monitoring PDC resources.
  • installing and testing software on PDC resources.

Qualifications

MSc or BSc students with an interest in hardware or software aspects of computing are invited to apply.
Prior experience of using PDC’s systems is an advantage, for instance, through previous attendance at the PDC Summer School or having used the PDC systems in other ways. You need to be able to use Linux-based systems and communicate in English with ease. It is also important that you can work independently and that you are capable to interact effectively within the group.

If you are the kind of person who takes the initiative when things need to be done, that will be a definite plus! The work is organized so you work at PDC one or two full days per week. It is an advantage if you can continue working for PDC support for a longer period.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
