The division of Decision and control systems is part of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science School (EECS) at KTH. The division conducts research within network-based control systems, mobile robotics, transport systems, system biology and system identification. The staff has a multicultural background and the working language is English. Job description

We invite applications for a research engineer position in the Smart Mobility Lab (SML). The advertised position is concerned with the development and maintenance of hardware and software for both ground and aerial robots. With respect to the hardware, it is expected that the different robots and their components are maintained, and that new and heterogeneous hardware components are integrated with them. With respect to the software, it is expected that a software platform to develop cooperative behaviors for ground and aerial robots is maintained and needed components be developed. The work to be developed is motivated by and within the scope of the EU research project Co4Robots (http://www.co4robots.eu/), KAW IPSYS and SSF COIN (http://www.coinssf.se/).

Qualifications

The successful applicant is expected to hold or to be about to receive a M.Sc. degree in one of the following or related disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, preferably with a focus in Control and/or Robotics. Good command of English orally and in writing is required.

The successful applicant should have an outstanding academic track record and well developed analytical and problem solving skills. We are looking for a strongly motivated and self-driven person who is able to work and learn new things independently. Good proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS), as well as in C++ and Python programming languages, is mandatory. Previous experience in implementation projects is an advantage.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
