Job description

You will be responsible for analytical support of the experiments carried out in the framework of OECD/HYMERES-2 project in PANDA facility at PSI, Switzerland. The aim of your project is to provide pre-test analysis in order to support design and selection of the test conditions for the pressure suppression pool test series, and to provide post-test analysis, aiming to develop and further validate predictive capabilities for the pressure suppression pool phenomena such as mixing and stratification including the effect of spargers, complex interactions between different components and phenomena relevant to the Nordic BWR pressure suppression pool and containment. You will be working on development and validation of the so called Effective Heat Source and Effective Momentum Source models (EHS/EMS) for spargers and implementation of these models in Fluent and GOTHIC codes. The result of pre-test analysis should provide needed information for the experimentalists at PSI in order to set up instrumentation for the test such PIV and TC grids.

Qualifications

Experience in analysis of thermal stratification and mixing phenomena induced by steam injection into large water pools. Experience in using CFD code Fluent and implementation of user defined functions. Good communication skills in English are required. Experience of writing scientific reports/papers based on the results of CFD analysis will be advantageous for the project.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
