The quantum matter group within the Applied Physics Department at KTH and the ARPES group headed by Prof. Z-X Shen at Stanford University are starting a collaborative effort on research on quantum matter. As a part of this collaboration, Prof. Shen will be a part time guest professor (Tage Erlander professor) at KTH starting 2020.

Job description

In connection to the above collaboration we are offering a postdoc position to work jointly at KTH and Stanford. The main task of this position will be to drive and participate in joint quantum matter research projects between the two groups and in particular Angle-Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy (time resolved, spin resolved, soft X-ray based) Experiments will be carried out at local facilities at KTH, Stanford/SLAC as well as at various user facilities such as MaxIV, SSRL/LCLS, ALS, SLS etc.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in the area of condensed matter physics or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline. A proven track record within the area of quantum materials research.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with VUV and soft X-ray spectroscopic techniques and in particular photoelectron spectroscopy. Experience of working with high power lasers.
