Biophysics at Science for Life Laboratory
Biophysics is one of the divisions of The Department of Applied Physics. The research at Biophysics is multidisciplinary with focus-areas biophysics, bioinformatics, computational biophysics, neurobiology, and immunology. Techniques used include biomedical microdevices, bioinformatics and fluorescence microscopy with special focus on super resolution imaging and single cell screening. The research activities of Biophysics are concentrated to the bioscience hub Science for Life Laboratory, where we also head the national super resolution facility Advanced Light Microscopy (ALM).
Job description
The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary research team focused on research questions related to natural killer (NK) cell mediated immunity, and the application of these cells in cancer immunotherapy. The candidate will use microchip single cell screening and advanced fluorescence imaging to study how antibody-based drugs influence target cell recognition, dynamics of immune synapse formation and cytotoxicity. The position is part of a collaboration with an international industrial partner in the immuno-oncology field.

Qualifications
We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated candidates with an undergraduate and graduate education within immunology, cell biology, biotechnology or similar. The applicant should have practical experience from cell and tissue culture, and ideally from isolation of primary cells from blood or tissue, flowcytometry, molecular biology, biochemical methods and microscopy. Experience from image analysis and report writing is a plus. Since the applicant will work in a multidisciplinary environment and with an external partner the ability to work with other scientist and good communication skills are important.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability. The applicant should be able to take responsibility, work independently and be highly motivated.
