Your work will take place at the PDC Center for High Performance Computing. PDC is the leading Swedish supercomputing center hosted by KTH. It operates state-of-the-art computational and storage resources for a variety of scientific application domains, including mechanics, computational chemistry, life sciences, climatology, and physics. Amongst these systems is one of the largest supercomputer in the Nordics, Beskow, a 2.5 PF Cray XC-40 system with over 67,000 cores. This system is expected to be replaced early 2021 with a system of about 10 PF. For more information go to www.pdc.kth.se.
Job description
PDC is expanding its system administrator team. The successful candidate will join PDC’s system administrator team (about 8 persons), running PDC’s computational and storage infrastructure. The work includes administration of these HPC and storage infrastructure and services, development of these services based on user needs and technology advances, and close interactions with the PDC support organization.
Qualifications
Candidates need to have extensive experiences using, deploying, and administrating large Linux-based systems and services. Experiences with running large HPC systems, preferably in an academic/research environment is of value. Excellent knowledge of Linux, common programming languages and preferably HPC environments (MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, Lustre, etc.) is required.
Good command of English is required.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
