Project description
Third-cycle subject: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics or Computer Science.
The famous quantum algorithms by Shor make it possible to solve integer factorization and discrete logaritm problems efficiently. Thus if general purpose quantum computers are ever built a new generation of public-key cryptography primitives is needed. There is an ongoing world-wide effort to design such new primitives. The newly proposed schemes must be analyzed to see if they are subject to efficient attacks by quantum, or even classical, computers. Many of the new schemes are based on problems related to integer lattices or error correcting codes. This project will investigate all aspects of these developments.

Information regarding admission and employment
Only those admitted to postgraduate education may be employed as a doctoral student. The total length of employment may not be longer than what corresponds to full-time doctoral education in four years ' time. An employed doctoral student can, to a limited extent (maximum 20%), perform certain tasks within their role, e.g. training and administration. A new position as a doctoral student is for a maximum of one year, and then the employment may be renewed for a maximum of two years at a time.
