The PhD candidate will join the research group called KTH ENSEED within ETT, department of Energy Technology. The KTH ENSEED team has the main focus on Techno-economic analysis of Energy Systems in Buildings and cities. At city scale, the team works on complex system analysis and modelling of the energy systems for the future cities and districts. At Building level, the team has a particular focus on system dynamics and integration, energy economics, and intelligent control and management of energy systems in the built-environment. The candidate is expected to be an active member of the research group, working on the existing projects and courses as well as developing new projects.

The main research focus of the post-doctoral researcher will be on techno-economic analysis of solar energy systems, particularly solar photovoltaics for the built-environments and cities. System integration, techno-economic analysis, and prosumer centric approaches to design and operate the solar PV systems for the built-environment are the core topics of the research. The post-doctoral researcher is also expected to teach and take the main responsibility for the course at MSc. Level called “solar energy systems for buildings and cities”. Teaching covers both solar Photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies and their integration into the built-environment and urban energy systems.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
• Past experience of techno-economic analysis of solar energy systems in the built-environment.
• Previous experience of working within courses or projects on solar energy for the built-environment and energy management at the city/district level.

Preferred qualifications

In order to succeed as a post-doctoral researcher at KTH you need to be goal oriented and persevering in your work. It is an advantage if you have a deep understanding of Energy Systems in buildings and cities.
