The Department of Energy Technology, under the School of Industrial Engineering and Management, has extensive laboratory activities where a creative and dynamic technical support in the laboratory is a necessity to drive the experimental business forward. The position involves close collaboration with other technical staff, laboratory managers, researchers and doctoral students with the goal of contributing to a successful research environment.

Job description

The position contains the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design support for experimental research and education projects in collaboration with researchers and doctoral students (including assessment of design drawings for external production)
  • Construction of test rigs, commissioning and support
  • Mechanical manufacturing (lathe, milling, welding etc.)
  • Purchasing support
  • Participate in the development of risk assessments
  • Fire safety responsible (training via employer), chemical responsible person, in collaboration with colleague
  • Service and maintenance of the lab and workshop infrastructure

Qualifications

  • At least upper secondary education in mechanics or equivalent.
  • Work experience in mechanical design, manufacture and assembly.
  • Basic knowledge in 3-phase electricity
  • Basic knowledge of English

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability. It includes collaboration ability, independence and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.

It is a merit with:

  • Work experience in electrical / electronics
  • Work experience in welding
