Job description

You will drive the project on design, fabrication and characterization of materials to be used as electrodes in hybrid storage devices. The project requires a wide knowledge in materials science, with focus on materials design for energy storage/conversion. Particularly, knowledge in materials synthesis, characterization and electrochemical measurements is needed. In addition, experience in ab initio modelling of materials will be considered as advantage. You will work in an international team in collaboration with industry.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in have a PhD in electrochemistry or physical chemistry or chemistry or materials science, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.

Meritorious are:

• Electrochemical skills: voltammetry, chronoamperometry, chronopotentiometry, corrosion rate measurements.
• Materials characterization: SEM, EDX
• Deep knowledge of inorganic chemistry, particularly related to chemistry of complex compounds
• Previous work in electrochemical energy conversion
• General knowledge of safety measures in chemical/electrochemical laboratory
• Common publications together with theoretical and modelling groups is a plus

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.

The candidate should have problem-solving mindset, be independent, capable of working alone as well as be a part of an interdisciplinary team.

About the employment

Temporary employment for up to one year with a possibility to one year prolonging. Start date by agreement.
