Job description

Researcher in transport planning with a focus on forecasting models. The position is a temporary full-time employment and involves project management and independent research in collaboration with the faculty, senior researchers and postgraduate students at the Division. Emphasis is on methodological development of demand models for passenger transport in complex networks for urban mobility, public transport and railway traffic, which can be used for strategic and tactical planning as well as evaluation of previous investments.

You will work with the forecasting tool Visum to analyze the demand effects of railway investments, as well as own projects and as method support in other projects in urban mobility, public transport and railways. Management and participation in applications for research funding is also included in the duties. In addition, teaching and supervision of degree work and doctoral students is included up to 20% of full time.

Qualifications

A doctorate is a requirement. A strong scientific background in transport planning and analysis and has experience in modeling is a requirement. Suitable backgrounds include industrial economics, statistics applied to transport planning and a degree in transport science or similar.

Good knowledge of scientific English is a requirement. Publication in international peer-reviewed scientific journals in transport planning, analysis or modeling is a merit. Experience of demand models and especially the analysis tool Visum is a merit. Experience of teaching and supervision is a merit. The ability to speak, read and write in Swedish is a merit, especially for teaching.

Strong motivation and interest in methodological research, a structured way of working, passion for the research area, ability to work independently and perform critical analysis, as well as a good ability to communicate and collaborate are requirements.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
