Job description

A researcher position is announced at the Bio-Imaging group at the Department of Applied Physics, KTH Engineering Sciences, Stockholm, Sweden within the subject area of super resolution imaging in life science. The research of the Testa group is focused on the development of next generation super resolution light microscopes. These lens-based systems with high spatial and temporal resolution will allow minimal invasive imaging of molecular complexes and organelles in their cellular environment. The applicant will develop and use new RESOLFT super resolution microscopy approaches to image entire cells rapidly and in a minimal invasive in 3D and 4D. Special effort will be dedicated to understand the behavior of photo-switchable fluorescent markers under various imaging and cellular conditions.

The laboratory is located at the Science for Life Laboratory in Solna. Science for Life Laboratory is a national research center in Molecular Biosciences jointly operated by KTH, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm and Uppsala University.

Qualifications

A suitable background for this position would be a PhD degree in life science with specialization in biophysics and a postdoctoral experience in super resolution light microscopy. The position will also require independent work and internationally recognized research activity in addition to collaborative skills and creative thinking. In addition, good oral and written communication skills in English are required.
