Third-cycle subject: Fibre and Polymer Science
We are looking for a graduate student interested in developing recyclable thermosets and composites based on reversible bonds, a person with deep understanding of materials structure-property relationship. We are in front of the global challenge connected to more plastics being produced than what is recycled. We lack methodologies that are environmentally and economically reasonable to enable recycling of many current plastics. The aim of this project is to create high performing polymeric materials, designed for use in complex products that after use can be easily recycled. The hope is that the materials created within this project will contribute towards a sustainable society by reducing plastics environmental impact while simultaneously filling an important void in the structure-property relationship of plastics today.
The graduate student will be admitted to a graduate programme that offers courses guaranteeing both breadth and depth of knowledge and skills. The work will be performed at the Department of Fibre and Polymer Technology. The graduate student will be working in a constructive and inspiring scientific environment with the possibility of constructive collaborations within the field.
