The research group at the Department of Protein Science focuses on chemical modification of proteins for the development of affinity-based analytical methods for medical applications. The group aims to recruit a new postdoc for a cross-disciplinary project with the overall objective of developing new methods for cancer diagnostics. The position involves production, modification and characterization of biomolecules, with an important part being the development of molecular reagents by conjugation of antibodies and other affinity proteins to DNA and nucleic acid analogs, such as PNA. The project involves recombinant production of proteins, solid phase synthesis of PNA, enzymatic modification of proteins, immobilization of proteins and nucleic acids on sensor surfaces, biophysical characterization of biomolecules, and evaluation of new molecules in cell systems. The job may involve supervision of students working in the project.
