The new high performance computing (HPC) system manager will work at the PDC Center for High Performance Computing. PDC is the leading Swedish supercomputing center and is hosted by KTH. It operates state-of-the-art computational and storage resources for a variety of scientific application domains, including mechanics, computational chemistry, life sciences, climatology, and physics. PDC’s current flagship system is a 2.5 PF Cray XC-40 system, Beskow, with over 67,000 cores. This computer will be replaced early in 2021 by a system with a maximum capacity of about 10 PF that will be equipped with a substantial GPU partition.
For more information about PDC, go to http://www.pdc.kth.se.
PDC is expanding its group of system administrators. The new system manager will take up a leading role in the system administrator team (which consists of about eight people), running PDC’s computational and storage infrastructure. The work includes administration of the HPC and storage infrastructures and services, development of these services based on user needs and technological advances, and close interactions with the PDC application experts, users and suppliers of computing systems and software.
