The nonlinear quantum photonics group at the department of applied physics is offering a postdoctoral research position dealing with the development of a functional fiber source for nonlinear experiments on supercontinuum generation in optical fibers and nanophotonic devices in Lithium Niobate On Insulator (LNOI). You shall test and further engineer an in-house high-power fiber MOPA system operating in the infrared spectral range and tailor it to the needs of nonlinear experiments on supercontinuum generation and characterizations of integrated photonic circuits and nonlinear photonic crystals in our lab. The work involves participation to international collaborations of our group with fiber laser experts from the University of Southampton and members of the EU research consortium MICROCOMB developing integrated frequency combs.
Your workplace will be the research unit for quantum and bio photonics at KTH-AlbaNova in Stockholm.

Requirements
A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (Whit some exceptions for special reasons such as periods of sick or parental leave, kindly indicate if such reason exists in your resume).
You should possess a proven record of outstanding experimental skills and a strong background in nonlinear fiber technology and Er-Yb laser systems, combined with a track record of high-quality scientific publications. Familiarity with fiber technology and devices, as well as experience in the experimental development of advanced fiber laser systems are a requirement for this position. You should enjoy engineering challenges and experiments, work well in a team and be strongly motivated to pursue research of high standard. Good communication skills and command of written and spoken English are also a requirement.
Preferred qualifications
Experience in supercontinuum generation in optical fibers and/or nonlinear crystals such as lithium niobate are desirable. A proven record of successful international collaborations is also a merit. As a person you are ready to take on new challenges and work hard, have the capability to work independently, but are also a good team player, willing to support junior members. You thrive in and are willing to actively contribute to a dynamic, multidisciplinary and supportive work environment, nurturing collaboration, internationalization, diversity and equal opportunities.
