Third-cycle subject: Transport Science
The Department of Urban Planning and Environment, division of Systems Analysis and Economics at KTH is looking for an excellent candidate for a doctoral student position in Transport Science.
The incumbant will conduct research to extend our understanding of the transition of sustainable urban mobility, triggered by an event or shock as well as through techonological developments (e.g. ITS). Urban mobility is undergoing various transitions led by IoT, access to real time data and advancements in infrastructure and vehicular technologies often outpacing collective policy responses. Sustanability is a shared goal and recent events have clearly revealed the caveats of non-collaborative non-resilient approaches. It is a critical time to explore how technology, while causing disruption, can equip us to adapt and manage negative externalities.
An important first step is to gain a better understanding of the problems, prospects and behavioural responses to such changes. This would be the focus of this project. It would develop the foundation knowledge to support practice and policy for sustainable mobility transition.
