There are four areas within and IRIS area II “Integrated components, mechanics and materials design including additive manufacturing” aims at strengthening research activities that promote the integration of materials design into designing with materials to enable concurrent design and optimization of materials, systems and manufacturing processes.
The focus of the current project is on design of materials and integration of this into mechanics and component design for metal additive manufacturing. The successful candidate will be employed at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) but work in close collaboration with the other departments at the ITM school, in particular with the Departments of Production Engineering (IIP) and Machine Design (MMK).
