The research, which has emphasis on basic research, will be conducted in close collaboration with Professor Olle Eriksson's group at Uppsala University (materials theory). Your task as a postdoctoral fellow in the group is to develop and then use a new general computational method, based on the tight-binding approximation, aimed at modelling how the spin dynamics of magnetic materials interacts with and is modified by electromagnetic waves. The project seeks to understand ultra-fast demagnetization and related phenomena quantum mechanical level. The group has access to large HPC resources.

As a postdoctoral fellow in the group, you are expected to take a driving role in the project.
