We are looking for 1-2 highly qualified and strongly motivated postdoctoral candidates in computational materials physics with a focus on magnetic properties, to be placed in Professor Anna Delin's research group at KTH, Stockholm, Sweden. The research, which has emphasis on basic research, will be conducted in close collaboration with Professor Olle Eriksson's group at Uppsala University (materials theory). Your task as a postdoctoral fellow in the group is to develop and then use a new general computational method, based on the tight-binding approximation, aimed at modelling how the spin dynamics of magnetic materials interacts with and is modified by electromagnetic waves. The project seeks to understand ultra-fast demagnetization and related phenomena quantum mechanical level. The group has access to large HPC resources.
As a postdoctoral fellow in the group, you are expected to take a driving role in the project. A smaller amount supervision of doctoral students and / or teaching may occur within the framework of the service. The Department of Applied Physics at KTH offers a lively and stimulating research environment. We are co-located with researchers from Stockholm University and NORDITA. Inspiring seminars, graduate schools and workshops are organized throughout year, and is often visited by world-leading researchers from many fields of physics.
