Job description

The division of Robots Perception and Learning, RPL, is offering a position of Post Doc within the Swedish Maritime Robotics Centre, SMaRC. There you will help lead a group of Ph.D. and Master students working on underwater robotic perception and control. There are regular trials and demos of the developed AUV systems that you will help to realize. You will also manage a code base and data repositories. The area of your research in SMaRC could be in for example SLAM, Navigation, Sonar perception, Visual SLAM, 3D reconstructions, multiagent planning, and Model Predictive Control.

This position is a one-year contract with the possibility of extension for one more year.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or Machine Learning, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (With some exceptions for special reasons such as periods of sick or parental leave, kindly indicate if such reason exists in your resume).
  • English proficiency.
  • Programming Skills in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with larger programming projects (e.g. Github).

Preferred qualifications

  • Research expertise.
  • Teaching abilities.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with a specific focus on gender equality.
  • Collaborative abilities.
  • Independence.
  • Further knowledge and skills that are desirable for the position is experience with Deep Learning or Robot Operating System ROS.

About the employment
