Job description

We are now looking for a Research engineer to the division of Transport planning, where we contribute to the solution of important transportation problems in Sweden and internationally through innovative, multidisciplinary research and education. In the position as Research engineer, you will work for our new research project, METRIC,  which main research is to develop models and prediction methods of traffic flow. Your main task will be modelling of traffic flow using emerging Drone technologies and other data sources.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • An M.Sc. degree in Engineering sciences, preferable specialized in transport or vehicle engineering, computer science or electrical engineering. 
  • Good knowledge and solid skills in mathematical modelling and computing.
  • Programming experience in Python or C++

Preferred qualifications

  • Work experience as a research engineer, research assistant or equivalent.
  • Familiarity of traffic simulation models.
  • Course study or experience in machine learning, neural network and/or data-driven modelling.

As a person you have a huge interest in research for developing new transport technologies, and able to work with independent engagement, motivation and diligence. You have easy to collaborate with supervisors and collegues as well as with external partners. You have an awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
