Job description

The research will deal with numerical simulations of transition from laminar to turbulent flow of boundary layers under free stream turbulence and analysis and modeling of these. The project will entail both direct numerical simulations with the Nek5000 code and the SIMSON code.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (With some exceptions for special reasons such as periods of sick or parental leave, kindly indicate if such reason exists in your resume).

The successful applicant should have an outstanding research and publication record. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills are a requirement. We are looking for a strongly motivated person, who is able to work independently. Good command of English orally and in writing is required to present and publish research results.

Preferred qualifications

  • It is preferred that the applicant have qualifications in Computational Fluid Mechanics.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
