Job description

The successful candidate will conduct research in geometric and algebraic combinatorics

together with Katharina Jochemko and other members of the department of mathematics at KTH. The goal is to investigate questions arising in polyhedral combinatorics, in particular, positivity, unimodality and real-rootedness in Ehrhart theory. The position is financed through the Swedish Research Council and comes with a limited amount of teaching duties

Qualifications

We seek a candidate with a strong background in geometric and algebraic combinatorics. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated researcher, capable of working both independently as well as in collaboration with other researchers. Swedish language skills are not required.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline (With some exceptions for special reasons such as periods of sick or parental leave, kindly indicate if such reason exists in your resume).
  • A strong background in geometric and algebraic combinatorics

Preferred qualifications

  • A strong emphasis will be placed on research expertise, teaching abilities, the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other researchers, as well as awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with a particular focus on gender equality.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.
