School of Engineering Sciences at KTH
Job description
Chip-based quantum optical circuits has radically impacted on the way we process quantum information and perform complex experiments. The applications where these circuits are predicted to enable quantum supremacy are numerous including communication, sensing, and cryptography to name a few. Integration of optical circuits provides means of miniaturization to efficiently combine elements of the quantum network on-chip. Over the recent years a new class of hybrid quantum photonic systems has emerged, that overcomes the limitations of monolithic approaches to realize more complex quantum systems.
The objective of the postdoc position:
The applicants will be working at the forefront of hybrid quantum photonic integration combining on-demand single photon sources, superconducting single photon detectors, and silicon based integrated circuits. The project can involve nanofabrication (clean room work), characterization of photonic devices at cryogenic and room temperatures, and building optical setups.
Communicate and disseminate the research results with academic collaborators and industrial partners, as well as the public. Support experimental activities of current national and international collaborative projects and assist in the training of MSc and PhD students in the group.
The postdoc will be responsible for
Planning and execution of research experiments
Analysis of experimental data and reporting of research results
Writing scientific publications
Communicating with group members and collaborators'
Assisting with in-lab supervision of master and PhD students, within the research unit of quantum and bio photonics at KTH-AlbaNova in Stockholm.
