The division of Biophysics is located at Science for Life Laboratory, where the team develops some of the world’s most used tools for modelling biological systems with particular applications to membrane proteins and techniques for drug design. We seek a postdoctoral scholar to work on large-scale simulations of membrane proteins, in particular ligand-gated ion channels, as well as development of methods to make it possible to model activation and allosteric modulation with computer simulations. The research is part of an EU-funded center-of-excellence, and the duties will also involve documenting and showcasing how simulations can be performed efficiently on supercomputers. The work will include collaboration and conference travel, in particular in Europe.

Preferred qualifications
We expect that you are an active researcher who has led at least one scientific publication and prefer that you have already worked with molecular dynamics or similar techniques. It is highly commendable with prior experience life science applications, molecular dynamics simulations of proteins, modeling of protein motion/binding, or free energy calculation – in particular for membrane proteins. A strong track record of teaching is also a merit, as well as awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues with specific focus on gender equality. It is important that the candidate can work efficiently both as part of a larger team and independently.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
