The position entails further development of the computer code BELLA, for simulation of dynamic transients in liquid metal-cooled reactors. In particular, the work concerns both the behaviour of advanced fuels and response from the control and safety systems of the reactor. BELLA has been developed by researchers and scientists at the division of nuclear engineering and is used for safety informed design of liquid metal-cooled reactor concepts, with a special focus on lead-cooled reactors, such as SEALER and SUNRISE-LFR. Within this project, the selected candidate will implement modelling of minor actinide bearing fuels, as well as of both active and self-actuated passive control and safety systems. The work will be carried out within the frame of the EU-project PATRICIA and a Swedish Science Council project focused on Generation-IV reactors. You will work together with professor Janne Wallenius, Dr Sara Bortot, other postdocs, PhD students and MSc diploma students at the division. You can read more about what is included in a postdoctoral position in the Employment Regulations and on the Swedish Agency for Government Employers - postdoctoral agreement
