Job description

A research engineer position is announced at the cell biophysics unit at the Unit of Biophysics,  Department of Applied Physics, KTH Engineering Sciences in Stockholm (Sweden) within the subject area of super resolution imaging in life science. The research group led by Ilaria Testa is focused on developing the next generation super resolution light microscopes approaches. Our technology featuring high spatial and temporal resolution will allow minimal invasive imaging of molecular complexes and organelles in their cellular environment. The applicant will investigate the dynamics and protein composition of neuronal organelles in living neurons. Special effort will be dedicated to develop new experimental pipeline for acquisition and quantification of the super resolved imaging data.

The laboratory is located at the Science for Life Laboratory in Solna. Science for Life Laboratory is a national research center in Molecular Biosciences jointly operated by KTH, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm and Uppsala University.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent competence. 
  • With good oral and written communication skills in English, as required in daily work.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Imaging analysis, Light Microscopy applications and Cell culture are strong assets
  • Knowledge and skills that are meritorious for the position
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
