School of Industrial Engineering and Management at KTH

Job description

The KTH Climate Action Centre is a highly collaborative, research-focused and unbiased centre uniting changes in technology, policy and society with:

  • Disruptive multi-disciplinary climate action research
  • Engagement with students and citizens
  • Collaboration with policy and business

The KTH Climate Action Centre aims to address climate action in synergy with the SDGs. The intention with addressing climate together with broader sustainable development is that while climate change hinders progress towards nearly all SDGs, well-planned climate mitigation and adaptation could help unlock the large majority of the SDG targets. However, some key trade-offs exist and their considerations are crucial for gaining social and political support for climate action.

The Postdoc will join the vibrant new centre and aid its startup phase with a variety of research and leadership activities. The postdoc will focus on strategic research on sustainable climate action, meaning climate mitigation and adaptation that is harmonized with the achievement of all Sustainable Development Goals locally and globally.

Research projects will be developed with a variety of partners to the Climate Action Centre, such as international and national agencies working with climate action, and the private sector.

The postdoc will join the Climate Action Centre Director in strategic decisions on the research foci for the centre – and assume leadership for a variety of initiatives and research projects.

The postdoc will also work with engagement-related efforts, including leading the communication engagement with selected partners and being involved in the engagement of students and citizens.
