Job description

The main task for the position will be to participate in the department's research on digital building technology. Together with an employed postdoctoral fellow at the Division of Constructional Engineering and Design, this position will be involved in driving the development towards automated processes for capturing, sharing and analyzing structured data for buildings, such as using automated methods and APIs to capture sensor data, user data and web data and by using machine learning and AI for analysis, decision support and control from the early stages of design as well as in production and in management.

Additionally, you will also be expected to perform up to 20% of full-time the department duties i.e., teaching, supporting PhD students, supervision of thesis students, etc.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  •  Track record of publications in Building Information Modeling (BIM), parametric design, (visual) programming.
  • Proven programming skills and proficiency in the use of current state-of-the-art programming environments for Python, Java, C# etc. that can be used for developing automated digital workflows and applications in machine learning.
  • Proven skills in using energy simulation environment, such as IDA, Trnsys, Dymola, or Modelica, etc
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to communicate on a daily basis .

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge and skills in applying digital tools, robotics and cutting edge sensor technology.
  • Knowledge and skills in machine learning
  • Experience in ontology based programming 
  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.

Good analytic and project management skills and ability to work independently to deliver projects and that you show good skills to cooperate with the industry as well as in academia.

About the employment
