KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of EECS

Job description

Organizational affiliation: The Division of Electric Power and Energy Systems at the school of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

The energy system is changing, and the need for electricity and other environmentally friendly forms of energy will increase in Sweden and the rest of Europe. As the complexity and sectoral coupling of the energy system increases, the frequency of unexpected events will increase at the same time as the inertia in the electricity system is decreasing. In addition, increased digitization leads to the energy system being highly exposed to the risk of cyber attacks. There is a great need among authorities, TSOs, and DSOs to create an increased understanding of the holistic vulnerability and possible protection measures in the integrated energy systems of the future.

We are now looking for a Postdoc for the project REDISET. The Postdoc will help the project managers with project management.

The REDISET project aims to identify, analyze, and develop proposals for risk reduction measures for possible weaknesses in digital security and resilience in a strongly integrated and sector-linked energy system. The project includes to:

  • describe what the (integrated) energy system of the future in Sweden will look like (together with national and international experts)
  • Identify and analyze threats and weaknesses in the future Swedish energy system (together with national and international experts)
  • Perform sensitivity analyzes of identified risks
  • Identify possible measures to reduce risks
